100watts enough power?

100 watts is great -- Keep this one in mind the driver used in the DLS is simply this:http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=297-064

In a 4 ohm version, unpressed paper cone, 1/2 the Bl field (and 3dB/2.83V less efficient -- which makes up for the fact it is 4 ohms vs 8 ohms), smaller voice coil (less power handling)... and 6.25" vs 6.5" -- some other differences too. there are other options too btw than just those send me a PM if you are curious.
The Iridium 6.5 (and UR6 and UR6S) has a 3" voice coil... larger than the one you mentioned. DLS I hear uses Scanspeak drivers. How can you say the DLS is "simply this..." - except for this and except for that and except for this, and some other differences...

The UR6 midbass seems to be identical to the Iridium except for a poly cone rather than non-pressed paper... I listened to both of these in-car with an A/B test and their sound is VERY different. To compare sound and performance between 2 drivers with even subtle differences cannot be done without hearing and comparing them directly.

i was born 50% def so loud for most people dosen't mean much to me.
Are you talking about "tone deaf"?? or just overall deaf.?? If you're tone deaf I would recommend components with a titanium tweeter. Since they sound harsh to MOST people they might compensate for your hearing impairment. Just a thought. Anyone else?? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smokin.gif.f1dc8d2acb1809e863ebd6a47eaa0d45.gif

Rule of thumb is double the power to get 3db more output. so if a speaker has an effenicy of 90db at 1w then at 2w=93, 4w=96, 8=99, 16w=102, 32w=105, 64w=108, 128w=111, 256w=114, 512w=117 and so on.

Hybrids are insane, superb midrange //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Despite the low Qts they rock IB in a decent sized door. I got lots of compliments on my mids on sunday at a regional ECA meet.
