I am running a new mtx thunder 1000xd through 2 thunder 8500 10 inch subs. Will i be able to power the amp with nothing more then my regular car battery without causing any harm to the battery or alternator? the alternator is pretty stout as it is and the battery is only a year old.

what car? usually 1000rms is the cutoff for when you should consider upgrades

Do you know how big is the Alt? Wire the Big 3.

Yes you can kill that batt, but if your carefull you can make it. Do not bump with the engine off or you will kill the batt quick.

Don't buy a cap. Buy a bigger second battery instead.
