1000w rms sq sub?

Alpine Type-R is rated for 1000watt RMS and costs less than $200. What's really interesting to me is, after all this tweaking and changes to Type-Rs, has Alpine finally gotten them to sound as good as now relatively old IDMAX v3 or IDQ v3? IDMAX/IDQ still have an incredible reputation. I have seen a used IDMAX v3 sold for like ~225-250 frequently.

No issues there. The amp will output depending on the speaker's impedance rating. Are you using a component x-over or is only the tweeter with x-over?
