Well, ok it's a 100watts behind the rating.

I believe most of the California series are 14.4volt ratings (the average a car battery puts out) and at .07 THD (anything below .10 is said to be inaudible); sounds like it's truly putting out its power "and no more"! Variable crossovers to (some amps still don't have these like Pioneer and Keenwood). The thing is most of there lower power amps have a slop of 12dB.octave on the low-pass crossover. According to my knowledge this isn't to respective of a slop for powering a sub; I can't say what the 900watt specs are? I have a USacoustic and it's ratted at 12.9volts with a 24dB/octave low-pass crossover; 300watts bridge (actually it's may be more since it's 12.9volt?) and $60--hey hey.
