$1000 Repair Bill

that price is about right. guy i worked with paid $1300 for a new fuel pump on his aroura(spelling). i know how it goes having to repair your own car. being a broke college student it sucks. i still have to put $2-300 into my front end to get a clunk gone.

So my car quits running, i know its the fuel pump. So my parents call the wrecker, get it towed, and it sits at the shop for two weeks. Well i get it back today, i also had the plastic button on the side of the gear shift replaced. The bill was $999.99A fuel pump brand new from GM is $225. THey charged me $498. The plastic peice was $32, labor on that peice was $32. The remainder was labor, towing was only $100. next time, im ******* in my gut, and dropping the **** tank myself!
Aren't fuel pumps $90 tops for most cars? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Most are in that range -

However the Intrigue fuel pump is more around $250 for some reason

PS - ALL shops get parts for CHEAP when they have accounts with suppliers

So if YOUR price is $250 at a store, that means the shop probably got it for around $150-170, and marked it up to $500. That's all profit, they add it to the part so the labor cost doesnt look ridiculous at $750

i was at home, i went to start it, and didnt hear the GM WHINE. lolI just drove it, now my horn doesnt work, nor my gas gauge.
and you let it sit, then your parents had it towed. Idont know, you might be at fault here. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
