$1000 Repair Bill

So my car quits running, i know its the fuel pump. So my parents call the wrecker, get it towed, and it sits at the shop for two weeks. Well i get it back today, i also had the plastic button on the side of the gear shift replaced. The bill was $999.99

A fuel pump brand new from GM is $225. THey charged me $498. The plastic peice was $32, labor on that peice was $32. The remainder was labor, towing was only $100. next time, im ******* in my gut, and dropping the **** tank myself!

Or try and find a place that does not stick it up your ***. My guy usually lets me grab what I need myself and then just charges me for labor.

Shoot, you coulda ordered a whole new tank online and done it cheaper....and quicker! yourself! But I know how ya feel, I had to drop almost as much into the front suspension on my car....but it wasn't unexpected. and yeah dude, just buy yourself a gm service manual for that car, not the chiltons crap they sell at autozone. put in a little elbow grease for god's sake.

make them pay lol and btw almost every shop will charge u double what every they get charge.

Thats why they warrenty they al ready have the 2nd time around coverd lol

your parents just cost you a good 4-500 dollars over what a respectable repair shop woulda gouged you for then.

I just changed the fuel pump on my Grand Am with a brand new one. It cost me $40 plus cost of new straps. I spent $85 on my new gas tank too.
