$1000 budget for S2000 audio

... I listened to a lowly Iforce vs a top of the line Clarion amp on focal access comps in a store and the difference was amazing. Then when I setup my system and my g/f's system (check sig) her's sounded WAY better on the zapco amp than my diamond audio amp. You could also look for Arc audio, Tru Amps and uhh I forget the others... I've never heard any of them but they are all supposed to be on the level of Zapco...
I have to agree with Acid here....I currently have on 75x2 on my comps right now and my music is more alive and dynamic than with other amps with 3x the power. However, I do have a 16v balanced signal PLUS the Zapco symbilink system in the signal path which makes a big difference.

If you go Pro60's, the added power would be very nice.

If you are looking into DLS, you need to look for a dealer in your area first. If you don't have one, let me know and I will give you the dealer's contact info that I bought my A5 from. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I have to admit that when I went from the 8445 to the 8053, I did feel like the sq improved slightly. Why, I dunno??

You guys rock with the quick help.

I did send an email to a DLS dealer for a price on the UP6/A3 combo. Lets see what he says.

There is a 8053 on Ebay for $350. I guess I might as well go ahead and buy that before I change my mind again.

Not that great of a price...even if it's BNIB....I hate to tell you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif The 8445's were going for around $300 back x-mas time. For $350 you should be able to score a used 8455 if you look hard enough.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Also kumar If you could let me know via PM what you are quoted on that combo that would be cool....I've been looking for an A3 and called my dealer today on it but did not hear back from him yet. Thanks!!

***EDIT: I found that 8053 you were looking at and it looks like Marv is selling the last of his. He as a submit best offer on it and I bet if you offered him $300 plus PP fees he would take it. Why, because I tryed to buy that deck off him in the past, but I decided to pass on it. He is a great guy to deal with. Go to elitecaraudio.com and search Mr Marv. I thought he posted the deck up for sale there first before he went to ebay with it. ***

I will let you know. I sent an email and pm to Tplaya07.

Im not real familiar with the Eclipse stuff. There are many 8445s on Ebay around 300 and only one 8053 for 350. With my knowledge, its all probably the same.

Edit: I submitted him the offer although after searching, the one he was selling before was barely used for 300 shipped and this is a new one for 370 shipped. Lets see what he says. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

while I wait to hear on the UP6, I guess Ill go to Tweeter tommorrow and listen to the Boston's and see what I think. I wish there was some audio superstore that carried all the brands like Focal, MB Quart, Boston, Dynaudio, etc at the same place.

update: offer declined on the Eclipse and they are no longer up for sale //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Dynaudio will be out of your budget (they start at about $800 for a set of comps) and they are difficult to fit in Hondas (sized wierd) The A3/UP6 combo would kick ***- I am currently lusting for an A5 to replace my xtant. The tweeter mounting should be simple enough, behind the little grilles in the door, they aren't very deep, and then you wouldn't have to look at the basketball grille either. The tweeters basically dropped into my factory a-pillar pods like they were meant specifically for the spot. Also, I would add some sound deadening (Dynamat xtreme or Cascade) to your doors to seal them up tight while they are in there. Another thing you might consider is a JL Audio Cleansweep and keeping your factory head unit- it gives some awesome equalization and a nice clean signal for your amp. Also, your dash controls would still work. I would do a cleansweep instead of an aftermarket head in that car.

Does DLS have a website? Ive never even heard of them before as opposed to the Bostons. Thats the main reason Im hesitant.
My other car is a Vette thats practically a race car. The s2000 is actually my grocery getter so I cannot give up permanent trunk space at all.
do u mind me asking what you do for a living? im at the point of my life where i know i want to get involved with some sort of money making venture. and you my friend, apparently have accomplished what i desire, owning two sicc-*** rides. i'm shopping for ideas!!
