Im probably going to skip on the sub. I cant sacrifice the space and I have an easily removable 200watt powered Bazooka bass tube already.

Ive been away from car audio from a while but after doing some research on here, here is what Im thinking of ordering:

Eclipse 8445 headunit

JL 300/2 amp

Boston Pro 60 components

any suggestions before I order this stuff?

sounds like good stuff man. i would go with a different amp PERSONALLY cuz i dont believe in paying for JLs stuff, retail, (lol) although i give them much credit for making quality stuff. nice gear nonetheless

In your reasearch you might find that you will be limited for power because the JL's will push the same power from 1.5-4 ohms and the Pro60's are happier with 300+ watts rms per side. Also not a fan of JL "/" series amps for this very reason - no additional power increase as the impedence decreases. Nice for subs though as you can change subs and not have to worry about changing your amp.

Maybe look into an amp that will give you 250x2 @ 4 ohms which will equate to roughly 333x2 @ 3 ohms. If you are budget conscious, then the MB Quart raa2400 is a good way to go as it will put out the juice for ya //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

holy crap, I saw that the Bostons can handle a lot of power, but that much?

Let me try to find that amp you suggested. Thanks

I looked at the Kicker zx550.2 and Orion 8002 but wasnt sure if those were good quality amps.

Zapco!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
really more than I wanna spend

Im not an audiophile so even this $1000 budget is probably overkill for me.

I would take a look/listen to Dls UP's or Iridiums- they use neodymium magnets that make them a drop in replacement speaker in a Honda, where many speakers will have clearance issues. I think a JL amp would be a good choice, I also like Dls amps as well.

Since that amp puts out 400x2, I can just turn the gains down right?

Im still looking for a 250x2

that really seems like an ***-load of power for some comps when your sub is a removable bazooka. I would get an amp that does an honest 100w per channel, and some Dls UP6's- you will be shocked at how good they will play, and they extend low enough you can almost get away without the sub, but the trunk is so friggin small in those cars, I'd still put a 12 back there. An excellent 3 channel is the xtant 403a- you can snag one for $200 refurbed direct from xtant- good clean power, plenty for comps and a sub. It is extremely underrated in it's stats just so you know.

I'd just look around for a deal on a really nice amp. BTW: even the i-force line of Zapco's are great! Cheap as well.. Plus there is some nice stuff kicking around in the Used sections. I saw a tube amp for 375 shipped... Sorry if I'm way over your budget but comeon man, it's a S2000 with Boston Pro's, don't go throwing crappy amps at it...

Does DLS have a website? Ive never even heard of them before as opposed to the Bostons. Thats the main reason Im hesitant.

My other car is a Vette thats practically a race car. The s2000 is actually my grocery getter so I cannot give up permanent trunk space at all.
