100 or 80 with components

With 6.5 components up front is it better to run the low pass to the sub at 100 or 80 hz?

I'm going to try 80 tomorrow but just wonder what your thoughts might be. It seems that maybe 80 would provide more accuracy and 100 more thump?

Try both. I recommend testing this with rock music if you're quite familiar with an assortment of recordings. The kick drum has the boom around 60-80 Hz so it will play louder from the speakers with the 80 Hz filter.

What is the slope of the crossover? This is equally as important to consider.

The lower you go, the more "up front" and transparent your bass will be. However, the vast majority of 6.5 woofers can't take lower than 80Hz. (I mean, they will still play 60 and 40Hz test tones just fine, but there is a big drop in the level and increase in distortion). I would start at 80Hz. I always high passed my front speakers (Alpine Type R, Image Dynamics Imagine, Infinity Reference, Pioneers, etc) at 60Hz and never was happy about it. I blamed the subwoofer, records, etc. Then I moved to 80Hz, and the music got a lot smoother to my years (read: less distortion).

Really depends how high your sub can play without localizing and how bad the localization bothers you as well as how loud you run your speakers. Try it both ways see what work best.
