100% noob needs your opinion!

Ok, I was almost positive it wasn't your stock deck, you would have had two knobs and it would have had a pony on it...
As for your setup, check my post above and those should suffice...The RE setup will be tighter but I think the Kenwood setup will get lower and are perfect subs for Hip Hoppers on a budget. (But who do you know that has RE...youll be the coolest kid on the block!) Get two subs because the amp will be the same (for this setup at least) whether you go with one or two and the box will cost about the same too. So spend a little more and get a louder setup.

RMS is the continuous power a sub/speaker can handle and that should be the number you look at when matching up subs and amps (amps and speakers). Peak power doesn't mean crap.
Oh when you said deck I was thinking of the speaker shelf thing out back *oops*

Yeah, you were right, not stock.

I am not telling you to buy my stuff, but if I were you and had the budgit you had, I would probably approch it this way. I would look for someone on here to hook you up with a total package. eg. I could send you a box with 2 10" Diamond subs and a amp to run them prewired, all you would have to do is hook up the RCA jacks, run the ground and power. I would include instructions. This is nothing you can't do. and you would save the install fee. there are a few guys that could do this for you if you were intrested.

^^^That would be a really good setup too, diamond makes good stuff!

Because I am lazy what is the selling price?

depends on which of the amps I have he would get, but I would do my best to be in the $400 range. He doesn't need to much poser because he is running mids and highs from the deck. Subs would see maybe 300w

Wow, I see new Kenwood stuff on ebay for ~200I looked up the Kenwood amp you suggested and there's a few that include the two subs you suggested as well for less than $200
Those subs get pretty loud (don't flame...Im just saying) and 200 for it all is a really good price. Like I said earlier they are boomy and perfect for hip hop.

And yes, boomy is a technical term.

Lol @ boomy

I'm not going for enough sound to blow the doors off my car (it's 40 years old it could happen..)

But I do want to beat //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Doesn't Walmart have like $20 wiring kits?

And boxes..what kind of box would you get if you were in my shoes? What's the difference between closed/ported/etc?

And if I just bought a box for two 12" subs from CC or BB would it be fine?

If you go to walmart get the 4 gauge scosche wiring kit (I think its 40 bucks) I hate it but it will work for your setup.

And yes you can get a pre fabbed box with these subs and they will still get loud, I don't think kenwood expects anyone to make a custom box for 75$ woofers. See if you can get a cheaper one online with free shipping? CC and BB will charge you 90-120 for a box.

Sealed is for tighter bass, ported is for deeper and lower bass. Sealed will still get low. In your car you could go either.

Hmm, alright man I appreciate all you guys answering my questions! You guys do a good job of explaining things lol.

I'm about to do some homework then see what kind of deals are out there..

Thats crap....don't judge all CC's and BB's. Go and talk to them first and find out if they have worked on the car...that car is F-ing cake anyway.
You'd let Best Buy touch your 66 stang? Plain and simple the ****. I tried them 2 times and they sucked 2 times.

Only thing I see is you're gonna have to deaden the hell out of that trunk if ou haven't already.

Up our budget and do it right. 400 will get you something, but a little more will get you someting better.

Do plenty of research before buying anything or ask on this forum. Asking on here can help get you the most for your budget and help you do it yourself. The wal-mart wiring kits will work just fine and there have been a few good system suggestions so far.

Yeah I'm prepared to beat down some rattles haha.

Is there some kind of secret stuff that's cheaper than dynomat but does the same thing? Just wondering because Dynomat was the only kind of deadner I noticed at CC the other day.

Another suggestion would be:
