10" Sound Quality Sub

A friend of mine is looking for a 10" sub that will work well in a small ported box on 250 watts. He wants something that will get low and sound great. What would you guys recommend? He is looking at a Dayton HF and SSA DCON. Any others?

Neither does not posting a budget, what ohm load he needs it at, or any other details about the system.

What you just described is just about any 10" in a very well designed/built enclosure.

I said 250 watts, a lot of subs like that will be around 100-150 maybe a little more maybe a little less but around there is the budget. And I could be wrong but most companies make subs in different coil configurations so that shouldn't be an issue but since your care it needs to be a 2 or 4ohm load.

Actually with smaller RMS subs most companies only offer them in a standard dual 4 or single 4 in most cases.

No, what I was saying is that you suggested that companies have a wide array of vc configs...I was saying they do not. Prior to you saying a 4 or 2 ohm load we had no way of knowing. Considering many companies offer one or the other, with out that information there could have been no options given.

With that said, you can not go wrong with almost any driver in the price range. If you want to buy a pyle and make it perform well then call me. You would be amazed at what an enclosure can do for a sub.
