10" loud setup opinion

Should i go 8 10" sealed, or 4 10" ported threw the rear deck. I am leaning towards the 8 in a sealed for spl. Doesn't have to be daily. I am usings some 10" planet audio's that i got my hands on. Any suggestions.

spl, i bet you could fit 6 ported.

sealed=not really spl.

ya but 8 sealed would meter louder, my guess. than four. Especially that i can give them rec. cuft for all 8 in the trunk of the grand prix. Plus i dont have to lose area due to port displacement, so 6 ported would be pretty hard to get.

you gotta think about choking the trunk off, if you have 8 tens crammed in there firing up at the trunk lid its not gonna be as loud as 4 firing back in a proper ported box.

I got a pr. of 10's ported in a GP that I'll put against your 8 sealed if thats what you choose and if it will fit.

Thats a mighty big box for such a small trunk.

true. just throwing around ideas, but if i can get it ported threw the rear deck even better.

use aero ports to port thru the rear deck. you should be able to get the 4 in their rec. cubes and still have trunk space... i remember i did 4 12's in rec space in a grand am (smaller trunk) and still had space as to not choke off the subs.

you can slide in about 6 cuft. in a 99 gp . but if you build in the trunk you can get alot more plus if i do 8 the rear seat is coming out. and the subs will be firing in the cabin, from where the seat sits now.

Thats what i planned if i went with 4. aero ports
