10" L5 Wow

Just set up my first system. Kicker zx400.1 amp, birthsheet rates it at 489 rms 2ohms. Ordered a 10" solo-baric L5 dual 4-ohm sub but recieved the dual 2ohm. It took so long over ebay for my amp and my sub I didn't bother trading the sub in for the dual 4ohm. So now I have a dual 2ohm L5 and powered about half way at 4ohms it kicks pretty hard. At about half way powered I can be heard before I am seen. Any suggestions or ideas to improve my set-up?

get the dual 4 ohm version and put that bad boy in a ported enclosure. that will def make you happier.

Wire it to 1 ohm for a minute or two and see how much of a difference it makes.

I"m pretty sure that amp can handle a 1ohm load, every kicker monoblock I've had (and I've had 3) were able to handle 1ohm even though they claimed to only be stable to 2ohm. Run it at 1ohm. Also try a better ported box, something handmade
