10 cars you wouldnt think were gas hogs...

yea i have a 1969 dodge d200 stepside, with a magnum 440, 727 *****, and a limmited slip rear end, best mileage ive ever had in town was 7 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif On the highway i got anyweher from 12-16. This is all with the holley 540cfm carb. It sure as hell huals ***. I had about 2 tons of fire wood in the bed, and i got a 0-60 time in 4.6 seconds. Not bad for a 5500lb truck, with another 4000lbs in the bed! Im sure my mileage sucked that day.

My dadsplorer sport, with the 4.0v6 gets around 19 in the city, during the warmer months he was getting 20+. In my 94 540i, i get around 16 in the city, depends how i drive it, if i drove it the way i want to id get around 10-12. But she does pretty good on the highway, 26-27. and thats pretty good for a 4.8V8! but the car does weight like 3500

200(0) I think Excursion with the Gale Banks 6 Bank jazz and the turbo and exhaust tweeks gets about 28 high way. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/woot.gif.aaa6090e619a97b6090d16dd863c5a69.gif

Unless you are putting a trailer and need that HP. Then expect 12 ish...

My F250 with the 351 gets somewhere around 10 in town and around 14 on the highway going 55. The best I ever got was 16.7 with it. Anything above 60 kills the mileage.

How is that surprising? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

I would add the Subaru Tribeca.....rated at 16 and 21.....really averages between 14 and 15 on the interstate.
Thats bad for a V6
ahem

h-6

Using a design derived from aircraft manufacturing, the Subaru boxer engine is mounted longitudinally in the chassis, resulting in a lower center of gravity for better balance and reduced friction.

My cavlier gets 28MPG highway and thats with the 200AMP alternator being taxed hard on the way to and from work //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Before that I was getting 30.

I didnt expect them to be great, but i definantly didnt expect them to be that bad.

My truck gets 16 MPG no matter what i do, the V8 version gets a liittle better. Aint that some sht.
