1 pair and 1 individual sub/Suggestions

I've currently got a pair of Kicker Comp 8's (4ohm)

I'm planning on building a Center console replacement which will hold a 10 (to be determined)

All of them in sealed boxes.

First question is does it make sense to have all three of them?

The reason I want the 10 is because the 8's don't quite do enough for me

If the answer to the first question is yes, then how would you wire them?

Series on the 8's give 8ohm then parrallel to the 10 (dual 4 ohm) would be a total 2.6666 load at the amp

that would be 46watts to the 8's and 183 to the 10

or series the 8's (2 ohm) and then parrellel the 10 (1 ohm) would be total 3 ohm at the amp for 92 watts to all three speakers.

Suggestions please.

If the 8s aren't giving you what you want, why keep them? I say dump the Comps and look into a pair of Alpine Type-Rs or Elemental Designs Kv.2 series (if you're on a budget).

On a side note, I've read time and time again that mixing different subwoofer sizes, coil configurations, and brands is almost always a baaad idea.

The reason I can't don't want to completely dump them is space, I can't fit a pair of 10's. So I was thinking the 8's would be more midbass and then the 10 be the deeper rumbly stuff.

My mind isn't made up that why I asking for opinions. So thanks.

Alpine MRP-M350 - 350 @ 2 ohm

I've only got about 5" of mounting depth behind my seats which is why I orginally went with the 8's. Budget is low. I'm trying to get away without really spending any more than the single 10 which will be from Bestbuy (Gift Certs and such)

If the 10 goes in the center console area I can get about 1cube.

A pair of 8" subwoofers probally aren't going to give you the midbass you're looking for because they're just that, subwoofers. If you're looking to upgrade your midbass, consider investing in a nice set of 5.25" or 6.5" components and a little power for them. As far as your price and space restrictions go, if you can find a way to free up an extra half inch, I'd definately take a look at the Image Dynamics ID10 v.3.
