1 or 2 amps?

I have just a 2-channel amp running my svc 4 ohm Xtant right now. I need an amp for my front speakers, and I was wondering what I should do. I need to get a new amp for my sub either way.

I'm building a fiberglass amp rack for my current amp, so I've narrowed it down to which new amps will fit in the amp rack for both options.

1) Get one 4-channel amp, run my front comps off of channels 1 & 2, and run my sub off bridged channels 3&4.

or

2) Get a new amp for my sub (2-channel) and get a 4-channel amp for my front and rear speakers. (I could also get a 2-channel amp for just my comps and run my rear deck speakers off the HU) Either way, I would have to put the second amp elsewhere, as it won't fit in my amp rack.

Work Log or click the picture in my sig for my cs.com install.

If you could find a 3 or 5 channel amp that was > 10" x 15" that does ~ 100x2(or 4) + ~500x1 I'd be all over it! The 9:0.5 would suit my power needs perfectly, but its too big. I've got the Opti minis in mind for what I'm gonna use.

I don't know many mono amps that are 4 ohm stable...

I dont know any mono amps that AREN'T 4 ohms stable. Most mono amps ive seen are at LEAST stable down to 2 ohms.

i second two amps. I go out of my way to make sure the amps don't match. it lets me experience more equipment to help me decide what i like.

Sorry, SSS, I didn't mean stable... I need to be clear. I meant that 2-channel amps would be more efficient at 4 ohms. Well... not efficient, but they are cheaper per watt at 4 ohms.

Ya mean?

I'm open to any suggestions... Different brands, whatever. I need ~2x100 for my RE comps, my Infinity rear fills are rated at 60rms if I decide to amp them. And the Xtant is 500rms svc 4 ohm.
