1 batt. 2500d

Would it be alright to run a 2500d just off the stock alt and 1 battery for a while
You shouldn't but I know people that have. Everybody is going to tell you that you can't. During the day my stock electrical handled it fine. At night though its a different story.

comparing stock alt. to a stock alt. isn't really a good comparison, if a tahoe a 130 amp alt. and a civic has 70 amp alt. , the tahoe probably needs more amps than the civic to function, so it leaves about the same for aftermarket stereo add ons

well i was just curious, cause im starting a new job next week, and didnt want to go out and buy another batt. yet and ill have everything else i need to hook my system up this weekend but i guess ill just wait

do this and it will buy u very very very little time be4 u really need a alt....well with that kind of power u need one anyway......but do the big 3 and get either a nsb125 or kinetik 2400 to replace your stock batt

The orion is very effeciant... it'll run ok on one strong battery with the amp at 1 ohm.

Sblazer beat up the same yellowtop and stock alt for what... 2 years? The amp was at .5 ohm for alot of that time.

Are you getting 100% power out of the amp... no... are you still getting plenty of juice, yep.

As far as "setting" the amp, its a crock. Unless you know actual impedence setting the gain with a dmm is a waste, you will NEVER get the power you "set" the amp to do.

Yeah great idea. Lets all just forget about setting the amps gain and turn them up as much as we want...

My 2500d is at max gain... it has been for over a year.... have I blown anything, no.

the gain doesnt blow speakers, the volume control does.

You can't set the gain with solely the DMM... it just doesnt work.

Yeah but if you turn the gain to max and use the volume knob to control your amps output, you are getting less preout voltage form you hu. this won't affect your sub amp too much but it will affect your front stage's amps.
