1 amp per sub set up???

As I stated earlier I got 3 Arc 2050 amps today for $300...YEAAA BIATCHES!!!

How exactly does the set up go for powering each seperate sub with 1 seperate amp (230X1 @ 4ohm each)? Do I power both of the subs out of the 1 sub RCA PRE-OUT in my head unit???? Do I need a crossover?

ALSO

These amps are 2.5 volt input each ..my headunit is 6V..will the volts be evenly dispersed through the 3 amps if 2 of the amps are for 2 subs??

Thanks

you could daisy chain the amps...run the main RCA interconnect from the head unit to one, and then a small patch cable to the second. Daisy chain the remote wires as well, or run a small relay.

nah, individually amping them is cool, and with ARCs it looks even cooler //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

daisy chaining is the easiest option, unless you want to spend more money and Y-split them at the head unit, and run seperate RCA's to each. Both would work.

Depression....Arc amps imputs are tested to 2.5v @"1KHZ" which means its a non issue-most people dont understand that you'll never see that fig- and think that the amp cannot be driven by high voltage HU's- I run mine off my 8v Eclipse, and know numerous people running 16v balanced outputs to them- also voltage signal rises as does the volume, its incrimental

Yes daisy chain them......and show them off if you can....I'm working on plans myself to re-do my trunk-they're so purty

Question....what subs will you run off these babies?

Thanks 3.5....GREAT ADVICE..I actually got a response from "STEVE" at ARC audio today and he stated the exact same thing you did about the voltage..so good job on that one!

He also suggested that the Y-connector is the BEST way to go???How much more expensive can it be????

SUBS!?!?!?

Man..Everyone is on me about what I am going to use..To be honest my sestym is rapidly going towards an SQ style..this was unintentional but I DO NOT MIND!!!

Initially I was always planning on the INFINITY KAPPA PERFECTS...I don't care what anyone says...I LOVE THOSE THINGS...

BUT...I am looking at ID.. The IDQ12 V4's look sweet and alot of folks claim that will be the last piece to an Amazing Sq set up on a budget

I am going to use "PRO BOXX" sub enclosure..Perfect for my truck...Durable..Best I have seen for my ride..even better than custom job.

A PROBLEM THOUGH The depth of these enclosures is too small for the Infinitiy's..I would need to Modify (use thier 12 "enclosure with 10" holes... Yet as reccomended by other forum members....With Image Dynamics the Depth...Power and mainly reccomended box VOLUME of these ID Subs is PERFECT for the box...So what do you think 3.5???

By the way..is that your mug shot Supa C????

True Story..when I was 20 I got a DUI..My Mug shot was classic...I grew up with all the guys from HOUSE OF PAIN and We where gonna put my mugshot inside the cd cover (2nd album)..but the Ventura county Sheriffs Dept would not realease it.

I looked Crazy back then

Thanx....funny how some people around here think i dont know what I'm talking about.....BTW Steve, Brad and others over there are great people and if you ever have a question holla at them- they're very professional ,courteous, and really stand behing behind they're products

Man, the IDQ's are the way to go brother- seems like the perfect solution for your truck and I just dig their sound/output as opposed to other economy SQ subs - **** subs are legendary for God's sake, those 2050's are a bit underated so they'll move very nicely

Now if those **** Arc Flatline SQ subs come out already, i'd be just as exited as you on finishing my system......I'm gonna run a single 12" off my 1500D, or two Rainbow Vanadium 10's....dunno yet, decisions ,decisions....

So did you get the limited 'black chrome' edition ones? Or are they the blue or white ones?

You should post pics of those babies, they're beautifull amps......I'm gonna post some pics of my CXLR 4150 and 1500D Fri/Sat and their internals(mine have plexi bottoms) Their board layouts are beautiful, top quality power supplies- I will be buying Robert Zef designs from here on:)

YEA..The ARC 2050CXL's I got are the Grayish /silver models..not the cool blue..But they match my inteior color PERFECTLY!!! And they are mounted on the back wall of cab..will look real CUSTOM AND SWEET

Also..Can I get some more feedback about the "Y" connection set up..why is this considered More expensive exactly!

Decent quality y-splitters will run you about $10 each. You could get away with using the Walmart/Radio Shack versions.....but in most installs they are visible and they don't look good IMO.

Link to a y-splitter: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=181-690

And since this will probably be your next question: No, a y-splitter does not split the voltage in half. Everything will still get 6V, even if you use a y-splitter.
