1 amp or 2 ?

I currently have Alpine SPR-10TW 150rms 4ohm tweeters and Audiobahn 6.5" AMD60H 300rms 3ohm midbass.

They are wired to an Audiobahn 2 channel A8002T amp 200w x2 @4ohm or 400w x2 @2ohm. off one set of RCAs from the deck. I use the deck crossover.

Would I be better off using 2 separate amps and 2 separate sets of RCAs/deck crossovers? A 4 channel amp would be the same thing I guess.

I should have beefy enough speakers and more than enough power, but for some reason I'm just not happy with how loud it goes. The gain is set so they don't distort, but they aren't loud.

Am I better off changing my amp set up?

the thing with audiobahn nowadays is they are focused more on looks rather then performance a lot of times. Whats your head unit looking like? A good head unit makes the biggest difference through a strong clean signal.

If its still not loud enough, you might want to change to pro audio drivers and super tweeters. After that all you can do is add cone area, bigger drivers and a lot of them. Your amp should at least put out close to 300 watts rms a channel judging from the fuses on it.

Head unit is a DEH-8600mp, but I'm thinking about getting a DEH-80PRS. Both the same really as far as the "system" goes.

What I was thinking with the 2 separate amps is that setting each gain for each set of speakers would be much better.

A lot of the equipment is older, but the mids and tweets are brand new.

I also have two 4" mids in the center of the dash running off deck power with capacitors on them.
