all the way to the sub?or like 1/3 box 2/3s ect

From what I've read, if the enclosure is the correct air space then polyfill really won't do anything for it?!

Fill damps the resonance of the sub and will change it's sound even if it's in an ideal volume (talking sealed here), this doesn't make it neccessary though, some people prefer the sound of a sub in a well damped enclosure (raises hand) and others don't or can't tell/don't care.

The sub will be louder with no fill though, that's why it's not often used.
