1 15 VS. 2 12's inch subwoofers ported

Ok i am thinking about getting one 15 inch subwoofer say 4cuft box ported vs. 2 12's ported 4cuft to share which will be louder with around 1000-1500rms? i might be gettin brahmas,re's xxx, or (JL w7 i get those for 400shipped?) so what to go with that one 1 15 or those two 12's i want the louder out of that combo also i might beable to get a 4.2cubox for the 15 maybe more but i doubt it if i want to keep some trunk space cuz i have optima battery n my amp all in there so? HELP PLEAse thanks

2 12's have the potential to get louder because of the increased cone area. it isn't always the case though. i myself perfer single sub set up's.

It really depends on the quality of the enclosure. It also depends on the sub, cone flex, and many different things. But bottom line 2 12's i feel have a slight advantadge over 1 15. That is not saying 1 15 will not make your ears hurt. Not to mention a single sub enclosure is easier to build than a 2 sub set up/

Just but the one you think would look better cuz we can't tell you what would be louder.

I perfer a single sub setup, but dual 12's have the potential to get louder. Get your self a nice 15 though and you should get all the bass you need, unless you're competing in which case you need to look into a lot more variables.
