1-12w3v2 vs 2-12w0s

Hey everybody,

Currently I have 2 4ohm 12w0's that I'm running with about 180 wrms each in a sealed setup, 1.5 cubic feet per chamber. I've been thinking about moving to a single sub setup, probably a 12w3v2. My question is, what would be the difference in spl and sq if I ran the w3 off about 400wrms in a ported box tuned to about 35hz compared to my current setup? What about in a 2 cubic foot sealed box? I know there are a ton of other variables to consider, but I just want to know if it would be worth the switch. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

1 sub less air movement but if your using a sealed box SPL isnt your goal. I can tell you I have a 10w3 in a 1.124 cu.ft box tuned to 37Hz and this thing hits hard as hell. I have my radio hlafway up and gains 1/4 up on the amp and it made my rearview mirror fall off. I was suprised, but i guess I found the perfect box for it.

Yes, that makes sense, there's one less driver pushing air, but there's also a difference in the maximum excursion. the 12w0's have 8.6mm for their xmax, while the 12w3v2-D2 is 13mm with about twice the power handling. I'm not sure how to relate that to spl, but hopefully somebody does. Anybody?

Room is actually the problem, that's why I want to go to a single sub setup if it would be comparable to what I have, hopefully a little better.

Has anyone had experience with similar setups? What kind of spl can one 12w3v2 put out if ported, and is it still fairly clean? I know that, again there are a ton more variables, but an approximate guess would be enough for me.
