1/0 Wiring Choice

Hey guys I'm in the market for some 1/0 that I'm going to be using for my AP3000.1

I was thinking about Knu KLMX but I've been reading some not so hot reviews on here. I've been thinking about welding cable 1/0 the UltraFlex orange.

Anyone have any opinions on it or any other suggestions?

KLMX is usually fine for the most part, as is most CCA. But be aware that in order to get the same performance as regular, true 1/0 OFC, you need oversized CCA. Here's a quick read: Copper Wire vs. Copper Clad Aluminum Wire.

The main benefit of welding cable is that it's so much cheaper than car-audio specific cable, as well as being true 1/0 OFC. If you were going to get the Ultraflex orange, I'd go with some other brand since that would be defeating the purpose - you should go with the red or black since those are the cheapest. Flexibility will be decent at best, but it really shouldn't matter unless you plan on moving your wiring around a lot or are running wire in extremely tight places.

So you would recommend going with normal welding cable vs KLMX?
The KLMX is fine wire. It is oversized CCA which means you get the same performance. It is actually 2/0 gauge wire. It is capable of 250 amps. I'm certain it is capable of more with shorter runs. I'd go with whatever is cheaper. Welding cable cost more where I live so I got KLMX and it works awesome. It isn't super flexible but it is more then enough.

dont knwo where you got read ro black.. i work pipeline construction 80 hours a week and handle my fair share of leads and black and orange are by far the most common colors... and the Ultraflex is more flexible then 80% most caraudio cable... CCA is for cheap *****.. if your going to run car audio wire at least get OFC

Oversized CCA is for smart ***** that like to save money.

i dont know how anyone withover 1k in a system can justify skinping on wire and avoid paying what 50 more bux??
It's not a hard concept. You aren't skinping on wire at all. Wire is expensive. Why would I want to pay 3-4 dollars a foot for wire that handles 300 amps when I can get KLMX that handles 250 amps for half as much? If I exceed 250 amps I can do another run for much cheaper and get 500 amps.

i run OFC and unless you find your wire for .90/ft i am running a run cheaper then you can run 2.. and mines awful flexi :p
