1/0 to 8 guage?

Make sure to fuse the 8awg at an appropriate amperage (max of 80A)
would i need to with the 4 gauge? cause i know some kits come with them, but mine didnt. ande what is the real advantage of fusing like that more than just limiting the current drawn. keep in mind i am only running it about about 20% power, maybe 100-200 watts. if that matters, i am not a wiring expert, thats why im asking.

Yes, you would need to fuse appropriately because if you did not, more than maximum recommended amperage could be allowed to pass through that run of 8awg, and even if it is short, something could happen and you could introduce a serious safety hazard. Melting wire on carpet will cause a fire, and there has been mroe than one documented case of an individual losing thier vehicle due to a melted wire.

The advantage would be safety, and being certain that your amplifiers/vehicle will not be damaged due to a half assed approach to a quick fix.

ok, thats no problem. i still have the fuse from the old wiring kit. what about with the 4 gauge? it didnt come with one.
