A friend of mine bought one of these the other day for his system and now totaled his car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif Well anyway, he doesn't need it and since insurance will be paying for a new one he gave me this one. It is basically new, should I put it in my car? My cars a Lexus GS300 1998 everything on the electrical system is stock. I have a 12W7 in a ported box powered by a 1000/1. Would this help with my lights dimming? Thanks!

redtop is a starting battery, not a deep cycle. Its good for starting your car not for powering your amplifier.

its not worse than his stock battery but it wont improve drain from bass hits. just most likely has more cranking amps. Its a good battery and very well could help dimming problems

If you dont have dimming problems though, then I would sell it.

I dont see how since a redtop only holds it maximum power for a 30 second burst. After that it drops drasticly

i have 2 of these and when i just owning the first one, thee was a noticable change for the better than off a stock battery....for sure. my amp could see a little more power for longer....they are nice....

question is if you have a nice HO alty then wouldnt it be able to provide the battery with ample current for those hard bass notes, or am i wrong?
