1/0 Gauge --> 4 Gauge on Batter, Bad?

So the wire going to the positive terminal on my car's battery is a little short so it's pulled tightly atm to reach the terminal...

the wire is 1/0Gauge and I have some 4 gauge wire that I could use to extend it and give it some slack. Should I use the 4 gauge wire to extend it, or just leave it and keep it pulled tight for the sake of power?

Will going from 1/0 Gauge to 4 gauge impact a lot on the battery?

you're talking about the wire that runs from battery + to your amp i assume? if you use some 4ga wire in that run you will be limited to the capacity of the 4ga wire... thats all... why not just add the 4ga onto the other end of the wire, near the amp? remember if you add in that 4ga anywhere you need to fuse it

It's actually the main Positive terminal wire that runs from the Car to the Battery terminal. I have a Stinger 1/0 Gauge Coupling that I could use to extend the 1/0 gauge terminal wire with some 4 gauge wire I have, but would limiting it to 4gauge be bad?
