09 Chevy Siverado Extended Cab Sub Box Suggestions

Has anyone installed a fairly high output sub box in a 07 thru 2010 Silverado Ext Cab? If so, I need some suggestions. I'd like to have either 2 - 10s or 1 or 2- 12s if possible. I always swear by JL Audio and would prefer them, but would still consider other high-end brands. I know JLA makes a "Stealthbox" which fits under the rear seat of this truck, but it contains 2 10W1v2s which are a little lighter then I would like. If the stealtbox contained 2 - 10W3v3s, then I would buy it in a heartbeat.

ext cab new body chevy?

2-8s or 1-10.

trust me. i have a 1-10 design for the 99-06 body that kills all the 2-12 and 2-10 builds i have heard.

I have been looing for a sub box for my truck as well but thay all seam to shallow 5 to 6 in and at .60 cubes or less im not shore on the air space that the more powerfull subs take i heard a Probox in a 4 door chevy and it sounded good but i cant find one for our year yet, if any body is doing any thing new could u put up a link or a pic thanks

Have u made any down fire or other type of boxes for the extented cab, My last truck i had a few boxes made cause it just didnt sound right till i got the right one and now i switched trucks and have to start from scrach and now im lost , will i have to pull out my back seat cause i have 2 RE 10s and the box is a 1.5 cubes i think

Dude look.. i have a 08 sierra i built and rebuilt MULTIPLE boxes... I used every square inch of spacei could get for 2 10's under the seat and even raised the back seat an inch and you not going to get much more then .75 for a 10 BEFORE displacement.. If you want to have any kind of system you got to yank the seat out or make a custom console type box... you cant do any sub known to man under the seat and get very loud.. trust me i have hundreds of hours of install time on this truck.. as you can see i gave up and yanked that ***** out.. im rebuilding this weekend for 3 18" MTs

ive got 3 ample audio dual 4ohm 10" subs behind rear seat firing foward w/.87 cu ea. and auto 1700 stuck to they butt.u cant hardly see out the truck

I have done a few different setups in the Chevy's, I would do a single 10 or 12 ported sub up port to the pass side under the seat. this setup works very well and hits like a MOFO, don't go sealed, you will regret it, not loud! I had 6 10's in .9 each with over 2200 watts to them together and my single 10 I have now is louder! With only 1500 watts!

Where did yall mount the amps? I have an 08 extended cab and would love to just have a sub on one side and put the amp under the front seat. I have no experience with tight spaces though. The builds I have help on have been in cars and we have all the room in the world.

I still want some storage space, and I don't want the amp mounted where people are not able to sit there or can spill on it.

K, I have a 97, same truck. Have two jl 10w6. Am JUST about to build a sealed down foring box for them but am a bit worried right now after reading these posts! For all you guys that say the sealed down firing boxes **** can you explain? Also, for the guys that have built ported boxes for these what type of design did you go with?? Was thinking sealed cuz I wanted tighter more accurate bass. Is my thinking wrong on this?? Thanks guys.

Single 10 under the back seat, downfiring with a port rear facing. Amp under the driver seat. Only other room you have is behind the seat and it's minuscule as well. If you don't lose the seat in these new model trucks, don't expect to be very loud.

Don't let anyone tell you about any Silverado box plans for anything pre '07, they simply won't fit. Chevy did a great job of adding leg room in the trucks, and a terrible job of destroying what room there was for a system.

Think I am goin to loose the rear seat. No one sits there ever anyways, just storage for junk and hobby stuf, bows, motocross gear etc. Plannin on goin with a sealed box, subs facing backwards, slightly angled up. Gonna pull carpet on rear of cab, dynamat, than put a piece of wood of some sort there to mount my amps, distr block, crossovers on. Plan on box top being flat and clutter free to use as storage still with leg room in front for the temp. rider. How does this sound to yall? Looking for accurate tight bass, not boomy, I assume sealed is the way to go then? WHere can I get interior matching carpet for my box? Thanks!

Ended up building my box with enclosures sealed right at .67 CF for each driver. facing the rear and SLIGHTLY angled up firing into a nice solid carpeted wall. Have stacked and removable amp racks for my 1000/1 and 450/1 in the middle. Its alll hinged in the front to make adjustments a little easier.

Hope this set up sounds good. Pretty jacked up about it. Have not had a system in almost twenty years!!
