ok, i just got this dual 10 box from kicker. it is nice and loub but it doesnt realy pound like i want it to. i mean that feeling where your ears ring and the tingling in the back of your throat. i thought id get their easily with this box on 923 watts. anyway, the sq has never really been too good and an installer that i work with pointed out it sounds like one of the subs could be out of phase. after listening to it again, i agree. does kicker have a reputation of this in dual sub enclosures? will these warm up and get louder or what? another guy said the box's port could be too big. i dont know if that is true. what do you guys think? the wattage is there, but the punch is not. gains, crossover, and boost have all been messed with to try and fix it also.

whats the box tuned to? do you know what out of phase is? if a woofer was out of phase you could see it moving the opposite way of the other woofer. square solobarics and sound quality should not be in the same sentence.

i dont know what it is tuned to. i looked in the book that came with it and could not find it. and i dont know how to measure it. i do know what out of phase is. if i didnt i would not have said that. they did not look to be moving the other way, but it seemed to make two different sounds simultaneously on some beats. but that may not be it. i dont expect it to have good sq, but it jut sounds very different in my car as in other cars ive heard the new L5s in.

as for more juice, its too late now. but i figured this would be plenty.

also, i have the gains set close to half way. i have a pioneer 860 with 6.5v preouts. i cannot really hear the subs distorting any but im afraid to turn it up any higher. and the other installer that messed with the gains, set it back to there. could it go higher safely, and could i put the eq boost higher also (about 70% up)?

i do know that some subs just need some breaking in. i know the eclipses we have on the floor took a long time but know sound great.

fixed. in my infinate wisom i plugged in the kicker remote with the same rj45 as the RF amp came with. it didnt do anything so i didnt care. i was ust going to switch wires this weekend. so i thought about it, turned the amp off, unplugged the remote, and problem solved. now it pounds nicely and i can hear distortion so i can adjust the gains.
