Here it is. An 06' BMW M5. The owner nicknamed the car "Speemer" so I decided to go with it. He did some performance upgrades thanks to PSI (precision-sport.com) and now it's time for the interior upgrades.

I'll start with the wiring first and then move onto to the custom stuff.

Fuse tap for 12v ignition. I love these things. You can tap for power without disturbing the OEM fuses.

I was able to find some great locations for the CleanSweeps.

Every connection soldered, heat shrunk and labeled.

All the OEM components put back in.

With everything put back in the CleanSweeps are still accessible for tuning proposes.

I do miss the quick disconnect plugs from the 90's that amps used to have. It makes for an easier install and uninstall.

The amps are trimmed out with some vinyl and genuine OEM Alcantara.

Some interior detail pics. Vinyl wrapped interior with Alcantara inserts. And yes those are aluminum rod speaker leads.

Bass remote where the cigarette lighter used to be.

Just like OEM. The door closes to hide the remote

Since this M5 is a model without the ski pass through I cut a pass through and added some grille cloth to hide the sub.

super clean install bro. gotta make the customer happy, i can relate. didn't mean to bust up your post.
No worries man. I'm not too much a fan of caps unless you have all the supporting things to go long with, ie. upgraded battery, wiring.

Awesome! Had an '06 just like that one a while back.
Cool. It seems that that is the year I work on the most for M5's. His was the 4th one I worked on from that year.

not to go off topic... but if you had the battery, you wouldn't need the cap //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

NP. I love talking car audio. Actually a salesman's approach is to say if you want to stop your lights from dimming add a cap, but the actual function of a cap is to offer a supplement of a fast acting source of power when the amp needs it and it also filters out some of the high frequency noise that can be found in a power line. The true fix for dimming lights is a properly sized alternator and a cap is a band aid fix for the problem.

we're not salesmen here...and the amp has circuitry to filter the noise. and whats faster than a battery strapped to the amp? if i got it for free, i'd sell it (without said salesman approach tho). if i was to install it, i'd try and have it make sense to the owner that it was unnecessary but i'd install it if they insisted.
