04 Tiburon GT - 4k Memphis Mojo amp - 2 12' Alpine Subs, and have some questions

Its cool. I don't know anything. Only ran 6k off a 300 amp alt daily staying over 14v. With are without the rear batteries. They where the biggest waste of money on my part.

Of course if you are dropping down to the batteries power a bank will help keep you in the 12v range. It shouldn't be going down that far unless the amp is clipped hard pulling over current

14.8 volts with just an XP 3400 under the hood battery on with two sundown X 10 a saz 3500 dude pulled a 146.7 at 2.5k rpm. 14.8 volts with two D3100s added to the rear, he got a 147.8

Every setup I've ever encountered gained from adding batteries.

Did you add batteries and notice a significant increase in output like many of us who also stay above resting voltage? You'd be a fool to think an alternator has any significant capacitance.

If the batteries helped that much the setup did not stay at 14v for the burp.

Think about it.

If a amp draws 300amps for a burp and the alt can supply it with 300 amps is adding batteries going to magically make the amp draw more amperage? Does the amp say " hey this ****** added a battery so I'm just going to raise my RMS rating"

you're arguing with results. it's been proven that they help, arguably moreso when the alternator isnt up to taking the full load, but they help.

if you think batteries don't provide any current above 13v when they're topped off you're also wrong.

i feel like you're forgetting instantaneous voltage.

lol You think that little float charge helps that much? Look at load test and see how fast the get pulled down. I feel you don't know how fast power can flow over 15 feet.

The only time it will help is if the alt is getting over drawn. In this case a 300 amp alt with a good battery under the hood should not be getting tasked to hard.

I have my own results. The only time it helped is when I would demo for very long periods of time at idle.

Its simple. Start with a big alt and go from there. If its not needed its not needed. If it is get some help. If you are clipping the amp to death voltage will get dragged down.
