04 Cavalier Alternator help

Hi all, I have future plans to upgrade the electrical in my 04 Cavalier. The only available high-output alternator I have been able to find is a 150amp. I am looking for a 300 amp or at least a 200 or 250 amp alternator that will fit in place of the stock alternator. Does any such alternator exist?

Have you checked DC Power, Mechman, etc. If you call them or registered online for a qoute then they will tell if they can build one for you. I checked with both Mechman (who told me right off the bat, can't do nothing for you) and DC Power who is apparently coming out with an XP segmented for my Cavy they are still in the design process and it won't be ready for some months yet. However this seems to be my only solution. Turns out the Cavaliers with the 2.2 ecotech motors have a tiny alternator space and the stock 105amp is about the best I'm gonna get, this is very disapointing to me because I don't want to mess around with custom bracketing especially because from what I can see the Alt isn't on the top of the engine seems like its down there near the bottem, but I didn't look too close was checking the engine. Wondering what everyone else with a Ecotech 2.2 is doing for big audio draw, maybe they are selling the pieces of toy crap and getting a real vehicle. Thank you for the advice though they were helpful even though they didn't have an option.

check with excessive amperage, i was also told by mechman and DC that i was out of luck.

EA can make a direct bolt on for me in the same case that does 200 at 1500rpm.

I called all the other places and they all said they couldn't do an alt that put out more than 220. Mine from excessive puts out 285 at 1200 and it is externally regulated and adjustable so I can make it 12.75 at minimum, then I can adjust anywhere up to a 19v charging, all depends on your setup. currently mine is set at 15.2volts

I'd look online for some pics of 2.2L ecotec grand ams and compare to your engine bay. I know for a fact that DC power makes a 275A alt for them. So depending on mounting position, you may be in luck if a grand am alt will fit your cavy. That's the best I got for you though. Good luck.

if they do, then that owner was lying to me when I called him and asked about it a month ago...

Yeah I'm a bit cooled down about it now, I'm sure I'll find somewhere that does, I'll have to check with EA on monday unless they sales line is open tomorrow. Gonna do the new install tomorrow so I'll see what kinda draw I got based on the headlights lol. The alternator and a yellow top bat are my next 2 purchases if the lights are dimming. Then some more wire for my extra 1000 watt kenwood amp I got lying around for 2 more sets of components 6 1/2 for the front in some custom kick panels, and 8inch in the back in the side walls meybe. It should pound tomorrow though I can't wait.

Nation Starter & Alternator,Tractor Auto,Marine,Truck,Small Engine has an ecotech 2.2L HO alternator for 500$ looks to be legit. I'm gonna keep shopping though.
