03 Crown Vic Interceptor Questions

Honestly I'd rather have a car that was built to drive quick daily and well maintained than a car that was questionable if it was maintained or driven fast or not. (When it comes to used cars)

That and I got it with 90k on it for 4k, pretty good deal I thought, especially considering its in pristine condition, engine doesn't miss a beat, body in PERFECT condition as well as interior //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif That and mine still has the spotlight and has the vinyl floor mat instead of carpet which I like better

Once I get my system finished I'm gonna get some flowmasters and a CAI, mainly for a little better gas mileage

Ford had it's issues in 80's/90's but they're pretty good now, which is why their stocks rebounded a lot this year, not saying their the #1 car company but a lot better than people let on for them to be. I'll admit I'm no mechanic however, I'm going purely off reviews of all their new stuff since 03-05ish

To each their own though, personally I think most (not all) cars nowadays will last a while as long as their properly maintained regardless of brand

Didn't mean for this turn into a debate about cars though, just had some electrical questions //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

guess you missed the part where my old 4.0 is over 400k, on all stock parts. and even more impressive. I'm pretty sure a few times in its life that same said 4.0 had went 15k in between oil changes and didnt miss a beat, nor is it right now.

and if you havent noticed the newest model jeeps are pure sex
The new Jeeps are pretty nice. Sadly the gas mileage is pitiful. Want to know what pure *** is? Just out the 2011 Ford F-150 eco-boost.

lol ya, what I dont understand when it comes to crown vics is people who get them and put them on 22's, guess its just not my taste/style

I honestly prefer the black cop wheels

I can't really argue when it comes to gas mileage... I get like 16-17 around town and 21ish on the highway, hoping getting an exhaust/CAI will bump me up to 20 on average around town as long as i'm easy on the pedal

that mpg is exactly what I get in my jeep with the 4.7, for that heavy azz vehicle it does alright

and you want to talk impressive magnus?

yeah, a full sized suv keeping up, now thats impressive.

You should get better than that. My old Grand Marquis got 25 on highway all day long.

What year/engine was it? Same 4.6l? I dunno it's what the sticker says you get for the interceptor, was the grand marquis the police package? I know there's a good bit of extra weight in the interceptor vs regular crown vic

I'll have to get the pics of my setup up sometime in february when I have it completely finished. It didn't have the windows tinted when I got it but got 5% on the back, 20% on the windows, and 5% strip on top of windshield, actually a pretty sharp car for an interceptor, white car

Gas mileage on my Jeep makes me wanna cry sometimes. I've been getting between 10-12 mpg in th cold weather. When it was warm, I got about 14-15. I'll take it though for an old 5.2L Magnum V8.

I'll agree with you too on the Crown Vic. The P72 deserves black wheels, not 22s. It fucks up so much on the car to put rims like that on there. The gas mileage suffers, the speedometer isn't accurate, and ultimately, the heavier wheels will cause premature failure of the brakes and possibly the transmission. Take a look at my Caprice. Do you see rims? Nope. I'm running that on stock rims and that's how is going to stay. Personally, the manufacture designed the car with those wheels. That's how the car was supposed to look. I think stock wheels, in most cases are a lot classier than 22"+ rims.

I agree 100%, besides, a solid clean white car with dark window tint and black wheels = nice

That and if I'm driving a car that looks like a cop car, why ruin it? It's nice having less of a chance getting pulled over =P

Not to mention people get out of your way on the highway. When the Caprice was my only vehicle, people would always get out o my way on all the highways. Now, there were plenty of times when I'd get stuck behind someone going 5 under because they thought I was going to pull them over. Also, even though it looks like a cop car, my only tickets have been acquired while driving the Caprice, one for speeding and one for noise ordinance violation //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Really? So far here any time I drive by a cop or get next to one they wave thinking im an undercover cop or something.

Pulled into a gas station the other day some cops were at, one was like "that car looks a little like ours.." then asked what year it was, i said on 03 and he was like "**** not bad" and the other cop was like "So what're you gonna do about that window tint? Looks illegal", i was just like "oh I didn't know I just got the car like that"(actually had put it in after I got it) , then the other cop chimed in jokingly "**** man just get some blue lights and if a cop ever pulls you over just turn em on and they'll back off" was funny

I've gotten lucky a few times, went threw a speed trap doing 60 in a 40, and looked up at the cop speed gunning people, and instead of speedgunning me he just waved

Ironically though ever since I've gotten this car I've had more people almost hit me than ever.. You'd think people would see a cop car and drive save around it

One of my buddies has a dark gray Charger that he pretty much murdered out. It looks just like a cop car. He's been going well over 100 in it and been waived to by cops on the interstate. I don't have the balls to do anything like that, even if I had his car.
