03 Accord No sound from rear speakers

2003 Accord with oem radio and speakers.

I'm curious about testing if there's a signal reaching the speakers.

Could I simply hook up a voltmeter to the harness that plugs into the speakers and look for 12v? Or would the voltage not show up as I'm guessing it's constantly fluctuating with audio frequency?

you can set the meter to VAC and look for a signal, it will be less than a few volts.

make sure the fader isn't set to front.

Tried that on a working system to see if it's a good test and it didn't give any reading in either dc or ac setting (maybe my meter couldn't detect small voltages?)

But I noticed if connected across the harness that plugs into the speaker in ohms it'd beep with the radio on and no beep with radio off. Again this was a test on a working system just to see
