02 dodge dakota wiring

I am getting a 2002 quad cab dodge dakota hopefully soon and i currently have 1 12" L7 with 700-800rms to it and a horrible car. I have a 3 farad cap., a tiny battery, and a horrible alt. Really the only problem i have is when i crank my 89' olds cutty up the alt squeels until the battery reaches 14 volts and after that nothing else happens until i cut the car off and back on.

I was just wondering what electrical upgrades i should consider on my dakota. I plan on getting another L7 and either another A8000T becuase i havnt had any problems or one amp putting out about 2000rms. Think i will need any electrical upgrades other than my cap.? I will prolly wind up doin the big 3 just becuase it is cheap, but do you think 2000rms is enough to need a new alt. or battery?

ditch the cap... you can do the "big 3" but as long as the batt and alt are in good condition you should be fine

whats the deal with caps? They draw more power than they help out or what?

yup basically just puts more load on ur alt... i think you will be fine without it... if you're having dimming n stuff you've got other problems
