i'm not sure ...but I'm looking at buying a new to me beetle soon....How do you like yours so far? try this website for your vehicle specs though http://www.crutchfield.com you can enter your vehicle and get the speaker specs

It's actually not mine. It's a friends daughter's that I'm installing a speaker, amp and head unit in. I've been on Crutchfield and I can't seem to get any info from there or anywhere else in regards to the front speaker depth. I know it's limited due to the window when you roll it down. As far as how she likes it, she likes it pretty well. And there's a surprisingly a lot of space on the inside. The only problem she has had besides the stock speaker system more or less being a piece of junk is that she loose's about 1/4 of a quart of oil from the engine every month. There's no sign of leaks anywhere on the engine, the torque converter, or the coolant and there's no oil on the spark plugs so we have no idea where the oil is going.
