0-180º phase adjustment

I have a Pa a3000db. The manual is horrible and half of the stuff is cut off. Anyways I was wondering what this "0-180º phase shift control" on the amp actually controls as I have never touched it/messed with it before. The manual is cut off so all it says is "allows you to change the phase of your subwoofer from 0 to 180º to help compensate for timing differences between the mid and [cuts off]"

pretty much it is a tool to help blend the woofer into a system when the midwoofer and subwoofer have a well planned crossover. for most people the setting won't matter.
