¿Keep up with the Voltage?

So i have this system(in my sig) in a 98 lumina. Yes, Two Rs powered by a XX-Hercules. I upgraded my alt to a brand new 200amp alty. Also, i purchased a yellowtop under the hood. Big 3 has been done. 1/0G throughout the car! And i get noticable dimming. At the same time, when i turn the volume 33/35, "AntiLock" shows up on my dash. Doesn't that have to do with the brakes? If i turn off my car, turn it back on, "AntiLock" goes away and won't show up again until i turn up the volume really loud.

I have a redtop coming in soon. I am planning on throwing the redtop under the hood, while the yellowtop in the trunk. But now, i don't even think this will help with my voltage drops. I am just sick and tired of keeping up with voltage.....

Any advice on how to keep voltage up?

loving that new EA alt huh?
sounds like an electrical problem as in wiring since it has other things going haywire
Not really.

What other electrical problem can i be looking at besides battery/alternator?

well since its making other things go wacky maybe you have some wires crossed or something. i dont think its going to change anything by ading a battery but ho knows maybe it will. take your alt somewhere and see what its outputing first before you start pouring money into it imo.

Speaking from experience, it sounds like for whatever reason your voltage is dropping pretty significantly even with your upgrades. That makes electronics in your car act funky, and is also not good for the ECU and such. Check the voltage at ur battery and see if the alt is charging at the correct voltage. A battery in the trunk MAY help you out, but i doubt it.

Well, i used the DMM on my alt while my system was bumping. I was getting some weird numbers, but i think it stayed a 13.x while my system was bumping. I will check today to see what happens.

i think someone else just had a thread talkin about there lights dimming still with there HO alt and new batts. Something about it looks as if there flashing other cars and what not, lol.

I still get dimming as well, just not as bad as before and my amp stays on now which is always a good thing.

What were the strange numbers you were getting? Maybe your alternator doesn't put out consistent voltage and the DMM was telling you that. I'm not an expert on alternators but could it be a problem with the regulator in the alternator acting sporadic?

well if the music is going its not going to put out a constant, it also depends on the pulley of the alt i knowmines doesnt get to 14.4or higher unless its idling kinda high
