Hey guys,
First of all, thank you so much for your help—I’m new to the world of car audio.
I’m writing to you because I’ve set up the ZSPL12R subwoofer with the ZXR1500/1E amplifier. I want to get the amplifier’s settings as good as possible, and I have a few questions. Here are some photos of the settings.
(Connected at 4ohm)
My radio has a crossover, so I’ve set the amplifier’s LOW PASS almost all the way up since I’ve limited it to 100 Hz on the radio. Then I’ve enabled the amplifier’s Sub Sonic to cut off frequencies below 27 Hz and set the bass boost to 0 dB.
What I’m not quite sure about is how to set the input level. Do I lower the input level as low as possible and then turn the radio volume up to 80–90% WITHOUT MUSIC (does that make sense?), and then gradually increase the input level until I hear distortion even though there’s no music playing? Or is this done with music playing?
I don’t understand if the input level is the gain or what it is, since the manual doesn’t mention gain, so I don’t know if it always delivers 650W depending on the radio volume or how this amplifier works.
Finally, I don’t have the BLC REMOTE connected since I don’t need it. Does it make a difference not having the BLC connected? Should I connect it and turn it up to maximum and then disconnect the BLC REMOTE, or does it not matter since it’s disconnected?
Thank you very much, and I hope you can help me.
Best regards.
