Rockwood amps

I knew this thread had to be old when the name Rockwood was in the title. Not a brand that has been around for a while.

On a bumped thread note, it reminded me to about 23 years ago I got a 4 channel Rockwood Sniper series amp at a thrift store for like 10 bucks. Still have it somewhere, maybe I should slap it in my truck to drive the door speakers. 🥳

Which lead me to seeing if I could find said amp. Nothing like an old ampgut photo. So it is the PA-2090 model I have, about a foot long or so, probably does around 50w per channel real world power. Not totally horrible, but cheap budget ancient style design.

It's got many years of dirt on it, and have not powered it on in a long time.

What do you guys think, should I run my truck door speakers with it at some point? Probably does close to 75 - 100w x 2 bridged. 😄

Additinally, no need to reference "max" anything as those specs are useless. Most of know how to look at specs for a given speaker, amp, HU, etc...

You don't need two amps. The speakers come with crossovers to help protect the tweeters.

Perhaps you changed something without mentioning it here? Maybe a loose turn on line? I dunno man...but we'll take it. Hopefully it keeps working. 👍
