I've got abut 27 inches or port length which puts the tuning frequency near 33hz. Just wondering if the curves in the port will be ok.

I have a 2001 Ram 2500 regular cab and have been trying to get some good bass out of it with the limited space I have. I was running a 10" P3 in a ported box tuned to about 34 Hz and it sounded awesome, the lows were incredible, you wouldn't believe a single 10" sub was making all that noise...

The box looks kinda crappy but its behind the seat so who cares. I didn't wanna dig out the dremel so I did kind of a half *** job on rounding the port with a file. The port noise isn't loud so I think digging out the dremel and doing it right will be enough to clear it up.

In case anyone is following this I built the ported box for my 10" P3 tuned to about 34 HZ using a port made of 3" PVC pipe. The box fits behind the passenger seat and lets it go all the way back and recline unlike the box I made for my SA-8. This new setup is definitely louder than the SA-8...

Anybody have some input on this? The P3 has more cone area obviously but a less excursion as well.

Over the weekend I built a ported box and threw my sundown 8 in the truck. I am very impressed by the sub overall, couldnt be happier with the sound but the box is a little too big and its hard to go smaller considering the port area needed. I have an older P310D4 and half a sheet of mdf left...

I was listening to the sub pretty loud on the highway last night and decided to check the amp when I got home. It was so hot I couldn't leave my hand on it for even a second, the kenwood is definitely going in when I get the chance.

I have a sundown audio SA-8 V2 in a box built to the specs on their website. I have the sub hooked up to an old Boston Acoustics GT-22 at 2 ohms so the sub is getting about 500 watts. The sub sounds really impressive for an 8" but I'm wondering if my 900 watt RMS Kenwood amp would be a better...

It was a tight fit but I think it'll do for now. The passenger seat sits back just as far as my seat normally does so I think its alright.

I built the box on the sundown website and had both the sub and port facing the drivers side, it sounded good in the drivers seat but awful on the passenger side. I pointed the sub and port upwards next and it sounds awesome in both seats. I cant believe the noise that this little 8 makes. I...

Would it sound worse with the sub facing up? With the mounting depth and amount of excursion from this sub I would need to have the passenger seat pretty far forward if I wanted the sub facing forward.

Did a little more reading and decided that a sealed box it out of the question, my biggest question now is which way should the sub face and which way should the port face? Just looking at doing a simple L port box.
