how do you replace a burnt spot in a wire? just cut it away and recrimp the eyelet?

ok so today i went and was going to switch out my fuse holder to a anl holder and found that the awg holder that was 80 amps had melted but the fuse was fine. so i switched the holder out anyway to 100 amps, i turned the car on to test the system before i put everything back and the protetion...

its a stock alt, i think maybe around 120 maybe. but would 4 guage be ok? with a 80 amp fuse?

would 4 guage wire be fine between the batteries? and what kind of fuse would you guys use and amperage?

Ok I jumped them but when I turn on the had unit I get a high hiss. I know this can be engine nosie but I found the problem to be the remote turn on wires. I have a 1200 watt amp and a 3600 watts. The turn on goes to the 3600 for the subs firstand then are jumped to the 1200 forthe componets...
