new Cradle of filth = freaking gay as it gets

Same here, I used to listen to that stuff too, I guess I've calmed down a bit as I've gotten older, so I listen to more mellow stuff now, but I still crank up some metal or hardcore occasionally. I haven't heard CoF in a while, but, taking your advice, I won't bother with the new album.

AA Assassin really the only/best option?

Also forgot to ask, would I be better off going with a 10" rather than 12" sub for this typs of music? Only reason I ask is because it seems like the bigger speaker is more suited to booming bass, and I'm looking for more punchy, precise bass.

AA Assassin really the only/best option?

So, seems like when I asked what sub I should get for overall sound quality in the $100 range, it was a resounding "AA Assassin". However, it seems to me that a lot of the people recommending this speaker have not even heard one and are just jumping on the bandwagon. There are so many other...

    Under $100 subs for SQ?

So, I'm going to run a 4-channel amp to my coaxial speakers for some extra power, and I'm also planning on adding a sub/sub amp combo, but I have no idea where to go here. I'm on a budget for the whole thing, I don't want to spend a lot of money. I'm looking for something with SQ. It doesn't...

    JBL LC-A504: Good, bad, ugly?

I have this amp, and I'm running 4 6.5" speakers in my car. They're not high end components or anything, just some Alpine SPS-17C2 coaxials. They actually sound very good, but I'm going to add a sub/amp combo and figured I should amp the speakers as well. I have a 200watt, 40-channel JBL...

    What should I upgrade next?

    What should I upgrade next?

I just installed my base system. For my budget, it sounds incredibly good. All I have in my car right now are 4 coaxial 6.5" Alpine speakers (Which are kickass and cheap as dirt), and a a Kenwood Excelon x890 (Which is even more kickass). I'm ready to take the next step to improve sound...

    Ohms? Bridged? 2/4 channels? Help!

So I've decided to just go ahead and use this Amp I have sitting around for my system. I'm on a budget to get some slightly better sound quality and enhanced bass. I listen to rock and just want some fuller, punchy bass above what 6.5" speakers can offer. I've decided to go with just one sub...

My Excelon sounds like s*e*x !

    Occassionally, depends on its mood

So I have this JBL amp sitting here..

Anyways, I have some speakers and an Excelon HU in my car now, and I was thinking about adding an amp and just one 10 or 12" sub in the near future. I was going to buy an amp, but then I realized I have this amp just lying around from a few years back. Now, mind you I bought the thing when I...

My Excelon sounds like s*e*x !

I paid 272 at onlinecarstereo.com, I'm sure you could find them for less. I am not running it amped, the power output is fine for me, I don't listen to music till my ears bleed, and the sound is extremely clean and detailed even at higher volume levels, though since the speakers are new, I...

My Excelon sounds like s*e*x !

I absolutely love this thing! I just got my x890 installed with some alpine coaxial speakers.. I know, the speakers aren't that great, but it sounds incredible! I'm so glad I chose the Kenwood, it's the best sounding system I've had in any of my cars so far. I spent about an hour tweaking the...

    Excelon VS Non-Excelon Kenwood HUs

I ordered an x890 and it's coming tomorrow (YAY!). Anyways, I ordered it based on reviews and recommendations. I finally got the chance to hear a kenwood HU in action and I though the sound quality was very good untouched, however, the unit I heard was not an Excelon but a sub $150 unit. Does...

Alpine VS Infinity speakers.. having a little buyer's remorse

I bought two pairs of 6.5" Alpine coaxial speakers on the recommendation of a few different people. Since I never have the time to drive out somewhere that I can actually hear speakers myself, I was trusting the words of experts. I actually finally got the chance to listen to these speakers...

    Recommendations for inexpensive sub/amp combo

Hello, I just recently bought 4 6.5" Alpine coaxial speakers, and a Kenwood X890 unit that I am waiting for in the mail right now. Once I get them installed, I will begin considering upgrading my system a bit. I've only ever had one amp/sub combo before. It was two 12" MTX subs that sounded...
