Excelon VS Non-Excelon Kenwood HUs

I ordered an x890 and it's coming tomorrow (YAY!). Anyways, I ordered it based on reviews and recommendations. I finally got the chance to hear a kenwood HU in action and I though the sound quality was very good untouched, however, the unit I heard was not an Excelon but a sub $150 unit. Does this mean I'm going to be blown away by the SQ of the X890 when its in my car? Or is the sound not much different? Either way, I'll love it, but I really hope it's even better than my expectations!

Based on my experience with Excelon, you will love that head unit. With the X-890

it might take a littile time, but one you get the baby tweeked, the sound quality will be quite impressive.
