Be sure to give your subwoofer at least one inch of space (from the back wall). As for the shape, it matters about the shape only when you have a massive enclosure (which yours wont even be close). With the power your wanting to put into I'd guesstimate that the 1.5 cubic feet box would be fine.

With the Kickers I'd go anywhere from 1.5- 2 ft^3. How much power are you planning to throw at it? Chris Trostle

I second that... If you want something for space get an Astro and then put up a wall.

A CRX would probably be your best bet. A Civic hatchback would look sharper though;)

JBL, and US Accoustics are both good brands for cheap, reliable power.

I don't care for their full range speakers (or coponents). Their amps are great. They have a great performance to cost ratio. Their only downfall is that their crossover points kinda stink. As for subwoofers I fell in love with the GTi subs, lol. Later

My first little bit of advice is the following: - It's hard to resist going out and buy car audio stuff, but if you save up you can have a real nice stereo in your car. - Since your on a budget look at subwoofers like Adire Shiva, Elemental K's, and maybe Kicker Comp VR's - For amps I suggest...

I think that it would sound great, although I do see a possible problem. How much ft^3 are you giving to each L7? L7's require quiet abit of space to sound good.

I would choose Rockford Fosgate subwoofers over MTX subwoofers. I would also choose MTX amps over Rock Fosgate's. Their amps are both pretty good, but there is no comparison on the subwoofers. (Except the low end subs)

I would take the K's over Alpine's subs. Overall the K's are better (or at least I say so:D).
