Um.. No. a better electrical has nothing to do with you setting your gains right or not. Clipping is clipping whether your system is at 12v or 14v...

Eh I beg the differ if you know what your doing and have the proper box. I ran my HDC3 for over a year off a Audioque 3500 at 1ohm set with o-scope. Unless your just daily listening to test tones for a 2 hour drive...a 30 minute drive at even full tilt with amp rise will likely not kill it...

well if you dont have a dmm or o-scope how do you know your not clipping it now?...

its a common on the V1's....I have 4 V1's in boxes never abused coils look brand new, heck subs are brand new, and yet all four have the tinsel leads broke at the former. My gains on my head unit as well on amp were set using an o-scope and absolutly no clipping ever...with 500watts a peice...I...

Yes 4 8's would probably walk over that 15 givin the right enclosure and enough power. I had 4 SA-8V1's and also switched between an AQ HDC318 and the 8's were ALMOST as low but Im sure they would have metered higher..Both boxes were optimum and tuned to 32hz. Also bother run off 2500watts...

Your looking for the wrong thing out of your sub if you want it hitting 80hz....you need better MidBass.....
