4 ohm amp but 8 ohm speakers?

So I have a JL Audio 450/4 slash v2 amp. I'm using it to power my front stage which is a 4 ohm passive system. The amp sends 150 amps on channels 1 and 2 and 75 watts on channels 3 and 4. I want to use channels 3 and 4 to power a pair of 8 inch peerless SLS drivers but they are 8 ohm. I...

    Blank slate enclosure design....

Opinions on Stereo Intergrity Mag V4 or the DIYMA 12"? Seems like they should fit the bill in volume.

**The 22 Hour Fiberglass door pods**

So they are not only mounted soley to the interior panel but they are also held in by the stock speaker grill tabs that are wafer thin and extremely flexible? A lesson on how not to mount your pods if you ask me.

    Blank slate enclosure design....

So here are the dimensions. Max outer diameter is 56 inches long, 13 inches tall, 7 inches deep at the bottom and 5.5 inches deep at the top. If my math is correct it would be around 1.72 cubic feet of interior volume space. I haven't purchased subs yet but I do have a jl 1000/1 mono block...

Added a layer of ensolite and some mdf rings. Decided I like the midrange and tweet in the a-pillar so I cut a baffle for them. Think they will be mounted off axis (firing at eachother) since I am not using time alignment.

Help with midrange/tweeter in the a-pillar mount

So I cut a baffle for my midrange and tweeter to go in which will be mounted in the a-pillar. The tweeter sits flush and snuggly into the 3/4" mdf. I am not sure if I should mount the midrange on top the mdf with the main body going through the mdf or should I mount it off the bottom of the...

What to use to paint interior plastic trim?

So I want to paint my grey interior plastic panels black. I figure to wash them all down with soap and water then go over them with acetone to get all the grease and whatever off. Then scuff them up with some scotch brite pads and paint. So are people putting down a primer and then the color...

I'm gunna bag it in the spring most likely. I'll have to tear out the front inner fenders and make some of my own, and build a 4 link set up for the rear. I'm hoping it will actually ride nice and be worth it.

Started working on deadening the front doors. What I started with... Midway through... Finished with Raamat 2 layers on the outside and 1+ layer on the inside. Next comes the ensolite. Made a huge difference as I can feel cabin pressure go up when I shut the doors. There is 60...

    Haulin' Thumper

Honestly I have no idea as I have not heard them in the truck yet. Lots of mixed opinions on them I know. I heard them at one of the local mobile audio stores and I thought they had the most potential with what that shop had but I don't think they had any high end stuff. They are definitely...

Well I added a layer of MLV and put on the new carpet. The added thickness made it a real pain trying to get the seats back in. Also got to work on the front door panels. I had extra scraps of butyl so thought I'd put them to use before I cover the panel with ensolite. Also added the...

    HU single sub preamp output?

Thanks guys. Is this how most head units are when it comes to subwoofer preamp. outputs? Or do most have two subwoofer preamps? Is there a dissadvantage to using a y adapter? I will be running two subwoofers off the mono amp. I can't imagine wanting to fade the power left to right so does...

    HU single sub preamp output?

My HU has a single preamp output for the subwoofer but my JL 1000/1 amplifier has two inputs. What what do I need to get to adapt it? I bought rca cable but it has two plugs on each end.

Don't really want the subs blowing into one side of my ears. I bought the door molds and glassed them in. The wheels are KMC Slide 22X9.5. I love them.

Previously I put down two layers of raamat to the outer door skin and 1 layer to the inner door skin. And I started covering over the large holes with perforated aluminum. Then covered the perforated aluminum on both side with raamat.
