    Efficiency

As for mathematics, 92db sensitivity + 200watts = 89db sensitivity + 100watts. For best buy subs, and **** like that (under say 500w rms) it can make a decent difference, but over 1000w it's nearly unnoticable to a properly powered sub. On the other hand, higher efficiency USUALLY means less SQ.

    A couple simple glass questions

read some fiberglass tutorials at the top of this page everything you've asked is explained very well. To answer your questions, make MDF rings, hot glue them to your box, stretch fleece TIGHT over it, I use hot glue to secure it (dries in an instant and creates a smoother fit than staples I...

    quick glassing question

yeah it's not really that bumpy on fleece if it's stretched well. Use fleece, you wont regret it. You can bond molds together, if they are going to be used as combined airspace I wouldn't recommend it but otherwise it's fine.

High input is louder than RCA.

high level ins allow you to add an amplifier to a system not really designed for an amplifier. Factory HU's rarely have RCA outs, but since there are speakers, there is obviously a high level input available. That said, RCA is THE best choice without question. High-level inputs are very dirty...

Best Place to buy JL Audio?

I think if you read this board no one says JL doesn't make good stuff, the argument is that it's overpriced. I'm not trying to stir up some big argument but you yourself said that there may be equal or better stuff for a lower price - wouldn't it make sense to buy those brands? Most of us are...

    fans on remote turn on?

Most likely the extra wire is to tell the computer how fast it's spinning. I've seen some people run small small stuff off of the remote wire but usually the current is so low it's not a good idea. Get a DC 12v car relay, run another power wire, and you're set. If you don't know what a relay...

Yet another thread about the BX1500D

I'm debating between it and the Visonik V900XD .. honestly the Visonik seems like a better amp, but I'm not sure. My question is: can you buy shrouds for the HiFonics to hide the wires? All the pics I have seen of it simply have the wires there on the side with no shrouds.

    signal to noise

Ok, I definately understand the physics (and math) behind it, thanks a lot!

    signal to noise

So I've been looking at some amps, thinking of buying a visonik v900xd, or a hifonics bx1500D. They seem to have very similar stats, with the exception of signal to noise ratio, and crossover slope. the v900xd has 96db signal to noise, and the hifonics has 90db .. big deal or not?? The...

    Visonik V900XD vs Hifonics bx1500d

On Visonik's website it says the V900XD is 1500W at 1 ohm ....

    Visonik V900XD vs Hifonics bx1500d

I would like to know everyones opinion on this too .. The Visonik is a little cheaper, and has shrouds ... but the HiFonics looks better - but has no shrouds... maybe if you have a car that would look good with a red amp buy the visonik, if it looks better with silver and blue buy the HiFonics...

    Big Box

well since it completely depends on what sub, how much power, what you want out of it, etc etc etc.... they probably do.

A sub that will pound. Hit the lows like crazy and will make u take an extra gulp.

ngsm13 - hey what's up man I live in sin city too. email me or somethin schaibaa@email.uc.edu ... I'd love to hear your setup sometime if you don't mind, I'm gonna be upgrading soon.
