Anyone have experience with Type Rs in a sealed enclosure?

It seems pretty unanimous. Thanks a lot guys, not going to waste my money on a sealed then, I'll just stick with my current ported one. Yea the newer Type Rs love power. Read on here that people run 1500rms on each safely.

Anyone have experience with Type Rs in a sealed enclosure?

Right now I have it in a ported enclosure with about 350 watts running to it, I know it's low for a Type R but that's all I needed at the time. Right now it's in a 1.72cu ported enclosure tuned to ~31hz. I just got an amp that would give the sub 800 watts(MRP-M850). According to Alpine's spec...

the sub volume in alpine HU

I have last years model Alpine and I set the gains with it on +15. Alpine did it kind of weird and +15 is actually supposed to be 0. The way I did it. First I figured out the highest volume I can have my regular speakers before distorting (22 for me). Then I put a test tone in and put the...

    12 type r question

May I suggest you this Profile amps, this one would give it 500RMS: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-NMb5gbaWkNm/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=120&I=489AP1000M for $160 with a warranty you can't go wrong. They're great bang for the buck amps also, they put out their rated power. If you do a search in...

Hatchback Owners & You Bass System...

Have 1 12" Type R power with 350 watts RMS going to it, in a 1.72 cube box ported to ~31Hz. I know the Type R can handle way more power than that but this has the perfect loudness for me.

    Alpine Type R

I have a 12" Type R with the MRP-M350 @ 2ohms. In a 1.72cu box ported to ~31hz. It's in a hatchback and it bumps pretty good. It all depends on the type of car you have and the type of box it's going in.

    packing peanuts

Take a cardboard box, measure the width, length and heigh, calculate the volume. Now fill it to the top with peanuts. Now you have the volume that the peanuts in there, now fill the sub box with the peanuts from the box, refill and repeat, and etc. counting how many times you filled it. Once it...

    Setting gain with digital multimeter

Yes it's sqrt(500x2). But the 2 stands for 2 ohm, not 2 subs.

    precision ports

With the one I used from partsexpress, you take the port length subtract 5inches, then you glue on both of the ends onto the pipe, and the whole thing should end up being one inch longer than the port length.
