They're both great subs, I doubt you'd be disappointed with either. I haven't heard the havoc though, just heard from a few people it sounded a bit nicer and a tiny bit louder. But it's so subjective that eh.

The XXX needs a much larger box than the RE recommended specs to perform optimally. So yes, it needs more airspace. Go with something different if space is a constraint.
