    The Official Type R Thread

Any thoughts about the JL W3's??? The guy at the car audio shop reccomended the W3's also since i'd only be running 300w. I was also thinkin about running 2 12" type-s's, would that yield better results? I don't have much room for a ported box, so if i were to port, i'd have to get a single...

    The Official Type R Thread

Thanks for the help. Still deciding between the type-s and type-r. I heard the type-r's on 300w, and they sounded ok, nothing spectacular, they really come alive when pushing 500w+. I've only been able to hear the type-s's on a wall so they sounded like crap. I'll probably go with the...

300 RMS, i was told the new type-r's are set at 500w rms. So 300w rms is fine?

    The Official Type R Thread

I was thinking about getting a 2005 model type-r but my amp (alpine v12) pushes only 300w (325w going by the test sheet). Is that underpowering the sub by to much? I wanted to get a single 12". I was also thinking about getting either the older type-r's or the new type-s's since both of those...

    Looking for a new Sub

I was also thinking about last year's model type-r since that runs at 300w rms. I'd like to get and RE sub, but i'd rather not go through the internet, the alpine i can atleast get here. Any info on the type-s/older type-r? Those are the two subs i'm really leaning towards right now. I know...

    Looking for a new Sub

Well for almost a year now i've been running a pair of 10" polk audio GNX104's powered by an alpine MRD-M300 amp. I'm looking for a nice sub to replace my 2 10's and was thinking about the alpine type-s. A single 12" or a single 10" type S, probably the 10" since i'm limited in height for the...

Opinions on ED Kv2 series subs

I want to keep atleast 1/2 of my trunk open to fit stuff in it. I can go 30" wide and only 12" high and about 12" deep for a box. I drive a del sol which is a targa top so the top can be placed in the trunk. Anything higher than 12" will interfere with the targa carrier.I was thinking about...

Opinions on ED Kv2 series subs

I had my heart set on a pair of RE RE10's until i saw that they were dual 4ohm subs (my alpine amp is 300w RMS at 2 ohms). Anways i started looking for other 10" subs. I saw the ED Kv2 series subs and for the price they seem pretty good. I know they're not out yet, but what are some of you...

    I have a dilemma, i want a pair of RE10's but...

I've been looking for a pair of 10's to replace my polk subs. The RE10's seemed like the best choice, not to mention how good of a deal they are and how many great things i've read about the RE8. Anyways i was planning on getting 2 RE10's but i'm not sure if my current amp will work with it...

Wondering if i calculated this right?

I'm trying to figure out a box for a pair of RE10's i'm planning to get. RE reccomends 1cu.ft. box for an RE10. Since i want to run 2 RE10's i figure that i need a box that 2cu.ft. since i'm doubling the box volume for a single RE10 (2x1cu.ft.). I came up with some dimensions that got the...

Question about Box designs on RE website

Are the box volumes on RE's website correct though??? RE's website says that an RE10 needs a 1cu.ft. box if it's ported and a 0.83cu.ft. box sealed. I've been thinking about running a round port but i'm still not sure how to do it.
